Kids are Funny

I am starting to get nervous about having two kids under 2, and I clearly have been procrastinating on my research. So I decided hit with a vengance. While I was looking for some serious books I saw one recommended by Daily Candy of all places called "Shitty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us"

So I naturally took a look and was dying. Hilarious. I then made the mistake of looking at the "recommendations" section and was sucked in for an hour. Mind you I was laughing hysterically. I love that some books on parenting aren't so serious and try to see the humor of your toddler or baby acting out, making a mess, crying non stop, etc. And most if not all believe that alcohol helps when stressed, which I whole heartedly agree.

Here are some that made me laugh and will help when the house is a wreck, the baby is crying non stop, and the toddler is running crazy. All can be found on

The Three Martini Playdate

It Gets Easier

Naptime is the New Happy Hour

Sippy Cups are Not for Chardonnay
You will find some of these on my nightstand in the near future. Enjoy.

  1. I will SO be taking this out of the library! I love laughing-til-you-cry, and I think books like this (which don't take motherhood so seriously) are such a relief for moms, who often second-guess our every move. Ladies, sometimes we just need to lighten up!

    Great recommendations!

  2. I specifically love the 'it gets easier and other lies we tell now mothers'... that sounds like what I hear constantly from my mom and aunts who secretly are having a laugh seeing us younger generations try the mother shoes on. Would probably order a couple of them for Christmas as the perfect present.
I am following you now and would love a follow back.

    1. Hi Jillian,

These books were hilarious, I am going to order some just to see what they have to say. Just followed you back!
