My Thoughts on Wine Tasting

Now that I am not pregnant I am able to enjoy some great wine. I am by no means a wine expert, I just really enjoy drinking it, wine tasting, and reading about wine.  It's a hobby that started when I worked in a wine tasting room while I was in college at UC Santa Barbara. Once I moved to San Francisco my friends and I would rent a limo and head up to Napa and Sonoma probably every other  month. I love listening to the winery employees talk about each varietal they get so into it and you can tell they love their jobs.

I have wine tasted in Washington, Napa, Sonoma, Carmel/Monterey, and Temecula. The only area I have not been to is in the Santa Barbara region, which is kind of funny.

I am often asked for recommendations for where to go when tasting so I wanted to include a series here not only so I can keep track of where I have visited, but also to share with anyone who may have never been to wine country and are looking for some recommendations.

Here are some pictures from some wine tasting adventures (and yes Claire came on a couple, we called ahead and had a driver :) )

If you are looking for a wine that I just love right now that is such a great deal, check out Bogle Merlot. http://www.boglewinery.com/home.php I believe my bottle was like $10 and is a perfect every day drinking wine that tastes a lot more expensive. I will be back next week to highlight some wineries!

  7. Hubby and I love wine tasting. If there is a vineyard anywhere near we vacation, we go for a tasting and a tour. We have tried all of the wines in your line up in picture number 2. How funny! Our daughter has been with us on many a tasting. She loves it because usually they give her grape juice and she gets to have all the cheese and crackers she can eat. :) Found you through Bloggy Moms.
