High Five for Friday!

Happy Friday! Today is great for two reasons, I get my picc line out and I finally am getting a haircut and highlight. It has been months. I am thinking of going a little darker for the winter in terms of color, eeks!

1. Found this quote on Pinterst last weekend and love it!
2. One of Toms newborn pictures, one of my faves
3. Got our holiday decor out despite being so busy, so hoorah!
4. Claire found my wine stash and must be stopped!
5. Claire's a little model, got a couple shots of her from our session.

Have a great weekend!

Wittle Bee Review

Um staying home with two kids under 2 is pretty exhausting. Ok I knew it was coming but wow I am tired. I get my picc line out tomorrow am so I am free to exercise. Yes tired and exercise don't really mix well but I want to start slowly getting into shape and start to lose this pregnancy weight and get strong again. I have about 20lbs to go so ya. I joined Weight Watchers with the hopes I will at least somewhat follow it this month and then really get into it in the new year. Me and everyone else :)

One thing that has been a good time saver is Wittle Bee. I mentioned this before that I wanted to try it and I took the plunge. I have to say its a really cool subscription. I am subscription addicted lately. For $39 dollars I received 4 really soft, well made long sleeve shrits, and 2 pair of nice pants. Seriously when I go to Target to shop for Claire I spend way more than $39 on 6 pair of clothing.

The site is fantastic you fill out the profile and the size and mention what you are looking to get your child. It also takes away the need to constantly shop for your growing child. Claire is in 2T now and is growing extremely fast for someone who is not even 2, I think she will be in 3T soon.  I have also received some good deals in my inbox for extra clothing items. All in all I say it is worth it to sign up for this program. Two thumbs up! To sign up just go to: www.wittlebee.com

On another note if you are still doing some holiday shopping for others or yourself, (heh heh) Molton Brown one of my favorite bath and body companies is having 25% off this weekend only! Time for me to stock on up. Here is the link:  25% OFF Everything* at Molton Brown - Enter Code: FESTIVE5

Loving Lately, More Palettes!

So I follow a couple make up artists on Youtube and love hearing what they have to say on their product recommendations and how to's. One of my favorites has just come out with a custom palette and I am pretty sure its nothing but awesome. I also love this company's make up brushes, I find them to be of the same quality as Mac make up brushes but for much less.

My second covet item is from Tarte. I own the Amazonian Clay Blush and its really great and long lasting. I love this kit becuase you get so much for the money, I am considering purchasing it for myself rather than giving away as a gift.

If you want to ramp up your make up collection I highly recomend the products listed below. As for me I will just keep my collection going.

Cyber Monday, I heart you

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was great. I got to see some friends which was awesome since I have had some serious cabin fever as I have been home bound for a while now. I am still extremely exhausted having been sleeping about 4-5hrs a night with a newborn. We are making progress though on him sleeping in a bassinet so that's some good news there. I just do not function without 8-9 hours of sleep. I am a coffee drinking machine lately.

Anyways, I love Cyber Monday. I love it because its the time of year I can purchase items that are normally a little more pricy for a ridiculous discount. I don't want to get too crazy but I have created a round up of stores where I have found some awesome discounts. Have you started holiday shopping yet?

but first here are some pictures from the weekend.

Easy Jambalaya Recipe

Ok so I know Thanksgiving is this week hence this recipe. Actually I wouldn't say it is much of a recipe rather a let's empty out the fridge because we are going to my parents house for Thanksgiving. Plus I don't want to go grocery shopping until this weekend. I mainly wanted a chance to use my new stock pot/dutch oven what have you before the holiday. These things are amazing, I found mine at Marshall's for $59!
Anyways, I found a Jambalaya mix in my pantry and decided to go through and find other items I could dump into to make a meal. I have to say it actually turned out great, plus was super easy! Here it is, which is mainly common sense but here are the items I used. :)

My new awesome Dutch Oven, or Stock Pot

A little bit of Zataran's and Trader Joes Chicken sausage

Some Green Onion

A little bit of chopped tomato

Charlie waiting for some food to fall on the floor

Basically cook the sausage and Zataran mix and add the fresh ingredients at the end. WAY easy. Enjoy!

Loving Lately...Fur Throws

I love this weather, its my favorite of the entire year. I am a fall fan and winter too for that matter. With this holiday weekend approaching I plan on relaxing (as much as I can) with some good holiday movies, egg nog, leftovers, and my fur throw. I purchased mine from Pottery Barn a few years ago and I am still in love with it. It makes an excellent gift for someone or for yourself. I actually do want a new one but maybe I will get it next year. They are faux fur but so soft and heavy (I love a heavy blanket). Here is the one I love the most. Happy Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

Exhausted Monday...Newborns for ya

I am so tired. so so tired. :) Our adorable 6 week old baby really loves to party it up all night long. I have been meaning to take some photographs on some fun cooking and decor ideas I have had lately, but the little man is making it a little hard. So as of now I have been searching for some sort of new contraption to get the dude to sleep at night. As of right now he is sleeping on my husband while my husband is half sitting up. Not very relaxing.

Our bassinet, the swing, nor the rock in play will work on Tom. If anyone has any ideas do let me know!

I have been eying this thing, and thought since he falls asleep on us if we could gently slide him over to this co-sleeper maybe that would work. It's the picking him up and putting him down that wakes him up in a frenzy.

So that is that, here is a snippet of my life lately:

Holiday Beauty Gift Guide

I honestly cannot believe the holidays are here. Normally I am listening to Christmas music well into October and planning out holiday gifts, etc. I just realized the other day that Thanksgiving is next week. Crap!

So I started looking for items to give to family and I never really thought about giving beauty items away, but I think it could be a fun thing to do this year. Plus beauty gifts are pretty great now a days with awesome packaging.

I have highlighted some favorites I actually wouldn't mind receiving (heh heh) below. Enjoy!

Monthly Baby/Todder Clothing Subscription. YEA!

While I was browsing on Pinterest I kept coming across this site called WittleBee. Finally I went to the website and I am pretty excited.

WittleBee is a kids clothing club where each month you receive a box full of clothing for your child. The cost is $39 per month but you receive $100 worth of clothes! What is also nice is that it introduces you to brands you may not have heard of before. When you sign up you fill out a little profile for your child based on his/her color schemes, size, and pattern preferences.

I signed up today and am going to start a few months with Claire. If I love the service I will include Tom. Here is an example of how much you get in a box:

Pretty neat huh! You can find more information on WittleBee here: www.wittlebee.com

Vera Bradley Sale and a Shabby Apple Winner!

Happy Friday everyone. It's finally a nice gloomy day here, and I love it. I think perhaps this weekend I will finally cave and buy a double stroller, pretty exciting weekend no? I still need to hang around the house and recover and fear I have a few more weeks of doing nothing before I can really venture out. Obviously that doesn't stop me from taking a look at current sales online. I love the holiday seasons because there are so many great deals way before Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I came across the Vera Bradley holiday sale while I was searching for some tote bags. I like their bags for every day and think they look great paired with a simple plain colored outfit. But I also noticed they are selling tech case covers, which is awesome because I do need some, not to mention a good portion are on sale right now. Here are some of the ones I am loving right now:

Loving Lately...Boots!

Ok so it is currently 85 degrees out, very strange for even Northern California this time of year, however it will be in the low 50's by the end of the week with rain. Naturally it has me looking online for boots, comfortable boots that is that I can trudge around town as I still meander through various doctor's appointments. Granted I am not quite back into my pre pregnancy clothing but with shoes you just cannot lose.

I have naturally muscular calves which has always been hard for me to find the right riding boot. What I love about Jcrew boots is that they have the extended calf and they fit amazing. I also noticed that Hunter boots also have the extended calf which is awesome. I am usually hesitant on ordering new boots online because of the fit but am glad to see some brands starting opening up to extended calf sizing. I also love the classic look of Tory Burch boots.

What is pretty funny is that I am all of a sudden into rain boots. The entire time I lived in San Francisco and Chicago and took public transportation to work I never bought a pair of rain boots and would show up to work sometimes with soaking wet or cold feet. Now that I am home and not having to commute I want rain boots. Makes total sense. :)

Oh  and make sure to enter the Shabby Apple $50 dollar giveaway!!! Details in previous blog post.

High Five for Friday!

My week has been pretty uneventful as I start to get back to normal. But it was Halloween and we did have a great time taking Claire trick or treating for the very first time. Below are the highlights! Happy Friday!

1. Claire is super into gel bracelets. She will put them on and off all day long and walk around the house. Such a fashionista.
2. Tom got into the Halloween spirit by sporting a jack-o-lantern butt
3. My first picture with both kids. I need to work on my technique with Tom :)
4. Claire and her dad hitting up some houses for candy! Claire in her Minnie Mouse costume.
5. Me and Claire strolling the streets, so nice to get out of the house!
