January PopSugar Must Have Box Review

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone's week is going great. I am getting pumped to see some of my friends from Chicago this weekend in Carmel, Ca. I only get to see them about once a year unfortunately and won't be in Chicago till this fall so need to get in some good catch up time. Plus will be nice to go out of town for a change.

So I really LOVE this months PopSugar box. There were so many awesome items in it. Seriously for $39 a month you really get a lot of products. Here is the link if you would like to sign up https://musthave.popsugar.com/. I am still addicted to box subscriptions and I heard from one of you guys that Fancy was neat, and then PV Body and GlossyBox are all ones I am considering to join next. Any others you love? You can see my December review here: December Review

I cannot wait to try these Hot Chocolate sticks!

Anthropologie for the soul

Happy Friday, yay another week down! I am going to dinner with some girlfriends and am very excited since I don't get out much. What are all your plans? Next week we are heading to Carmel for our first trip with the new baby. This should be interesting, and hopefully a smooth ride.

So lets get right to it I have always loved Anthropologie. I try to never go though because the second I enter the store I stand there and ooh and ahh about every single item. It's bad because I literally want everything. I feel like they created this store just for me. So I try not to go, sort of Anthropologie AA if you will.

I am still in between sizes (although feeling much better and getting in better shape, hoorah!) My fabulous friends were in town and while one poor thing had food poisoning and was resting on the couch, my other  friend and I decided to go to Anthro because well I was loving all her clothes and wanted to get me some. Plus its so much more fun to shop with friends than your husband who stands around looking at his watch and telling you to hurry up. ha ha.

I tried on a ton of items, but only walked out with two because I just can't spend that much. I am however obsessing over the blue and striped tops below and I didn't know Anthro had their own brand of jeans, or jeans made for them. Pilco jeans. I tried them on and they were SOOOOO comfortable, must be the spandex, it just moves with you. I didn't walk out with a pair but I can't stop thinking about them which means I need to go back and get them. I am thinking a good bootcut pair, I am sort of over the skinny jeans look for now.

Anyways item 6 and 7 came home with me :) and the rest is what I am hopefully going back for soon! Any other favorites at Anthropologie that I don't know about?

Favorite Wines

I was going to write yesterday but Tom was very demanding of my attention and time. Those days are rough. I have started to wear him back in the moby wrap and today while it started out with an angry Tominator, the moby has put him to sleep on me and I am able to talk about my favorite thing ever....WINE!

Back in the day when I had a full time job I used to be a member of a few wine clubs from wineries I had visited in Napa/Sonoma. Then well I wasn't working and had almost two back to back pregnancies and decided to quit all of them. There was just one winery I just could not get out of my head, and it is one of my top 10 wineries. Pine Ridge. So as a Christmas gift for myself I rejoined the wine club.

You can find this winery on the Silverado Trail in Napa. The tasting room is small but nice and there is an option to take a tour. Reservations are recommended. The Cabs, Fortis, and Oynx are my favorites and are smooth like butter :)

The wine club has different levels and price points so can fit many budgets, this is nice because they didn't have this option a few years ago. I have seen this wine sold in grocery stores and Trader Joes as well. Here is their website for more information: http://www.pineridgevineyards.com/

Cheers!

Low Carb Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

So in my quest to lose the baby weight I have have been trying lower carb meals. I do this mainly so I remain fuller longer and resist the urge to snack in the pantry. A really awesome site and book, Metabolic Effect, has some great information on eating right and exercise. I decided to give one of their recipes a try and I have to say that although they didn't look pretty, I was so full I could barely finish a serving.

The recipe is Apple Cinnamon pancakes and its so easy to make, which I love. Here it is:

Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 Jar unsweetened applesauce
1 scoop of Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1-2 tbsp of Stevia
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Literally dump everything in a bowl mix together and cook on the skillet till desired texture. I put extra truvia on top to make it a little more sweet.

Claire's Favorite Things: Age 2 Toddler Toy Ideas

Claire will be 2 years old next month, which is beyond me because I just don't know where the time has gone. I also notice every few months her favorite toys shift. This season it is comfort toys and anything to clean the house with, although she is not actually cleaning but rather making more of a mess.

We had a sleep regression issue for a month back in December when her molars were coming in and she refused to go to bed unless we rocked her to sleep or sat in the room with her, I also think she developed a fear of the dark. It was exhausting regardless, especially since she was such a fabulous sleeper before.

I headed over to my favorite site where I purchase all my diapers, from none other than www.diapers.com and grabbed a few items which have helped tremendously, but she needs all of them in the bed with her including a hairbrush....naturally. Violet was a gift from her auntie but she has just now become attached to it.

For her birthday we are getting her some cleaning products (weird to say) and some swim lessons because she has decided she wants to "swim" in our tub and make a huge mess. So there you go, I will say though that Violet sings her to sleep and the nightlight comforts her in the dark, a hit all around. Any good toys your toddler loves lately?

Stella and Dot Spring 2013 Collection

I was so excited when the new spring Stella and Dot collection came out this past week. The pieces are bright, colorful, and priced well. I just ordered a few sample pieces to check out and I am so excited. Now that Tom is a little bigger I feel like I have a little more time to spend time on some trunk shows. Nothing crazy but a few here and there would be nice, plus its actually fun to go out and talk to others about one of my favorite things, jewelry! What is also nice is that you can shop online easily too. I have highlighted some of my favorites from this collection, but you can view the entire collection at www.stelladot.com/erinredmond. A lot of the fall pieces are on sale too which is always fantastic! Here's to some colorful outfits!

Hana Flat Iron Review and 3 Months Postpartum Style Ideas

Oh yes it is Monday once again. sigh. Why do these weekends just fly by? I had a nice time relaxing and stayed strong to my no drinking wine for 3 weeks plan. It was really hard though, because with it so chilly outside I really wanted to relax with a good bottle. But I look forward to some wine this upcoming weekend because I have some good friends in town so I can hold out until then.

Anyways I was playing around with my new Canon lens and decided to do a review of the flat iron so graciously gifted to me by www.misikko.com.

I haven't owned a new flat iron since 2004 so it had been a long time. I have naturally curly hair so it takes a good amount of flat ironing to get my hair stick straight. This time I went for a look that had a little bit of body to it and the Hana did not disappoint! It smoothed out my hair but without making the ends look totally dead like my old iron does. Plus it was totally lightweight.

New Camera Lens and the Babies

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday! I am going strong on my eating well plan yet am too scared to weigh in :) But I am feeling better that is for sure! I will share my progress once I get the guts to weigh myself.

I am really excited however because I finally invested in a new camera lens for my Canon Rebel. I ended up going with the 50 mm 1/4 and its fantastic! The only problem and I am assuming many parents feel the same way, is that I cannot for the life of me get Claire to look at me or smile even for a picture. Not to mention she won't let me touch her hair so she has chronic bed head. Oh well. If you have any tips on getting a toddler to cooporate I would love to hear your advice!

Here are some of the family shots I took last night and today. and I am excited to bring more personal photos and photo reviews to the blog soon!
