Citrus Lane August Review

Ya I meant to send this out last week and well that just didn't happen. I have been picking up a lot of additional work for my old company and that has been preoccupying my evenings and weekends. So any free extra time I have had I spend it with the family.  I need to get this time management thing down so I can fit in some time for blogging, because I do miss it. I am getting a babysitter to come and help me out with the kids a couple times a week so I can do some work and throw in a few blog postings. It will help a lot because Tom will not let me sit at a computer even to read emails during the day, which is normal considering he's still a baby. Claire was a little different as a baby and was good at sitting in the office with me playing with her toys but Tom wants more interaction, and still isn't on a predictable nap schedule. Once his naps become predictable I think that will help free up some time too.

Anyways this months Citrus Lane box did not disappoint.  I have gone ahead and cancelled my PopSugar and Wittle Bee boxes to save some money but am going to continue with Citrus Lane for a couple more months just because I love seeing new products for kids.

So Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription that comes to your door mid month. You can personalize the boxes for your kids age. I have mine tailored to Tom bomb. They are $21/month. Here is more information. Citrus Lane.

Another Busy Week and the Oral B Wow Experience Review

Yes my friends that is a food scale. I have been mindless snacking on cheese, crackers, and wine lately without really considering how much I am actually consuming. Shockingly I haven't lost any weight lately either. So I saw this video on Joyus (pretty much they sell me on anything on that site) and I really do love it. Well love is a strong word, more like crap this glass is 153 calories. It did help though, rather then pouring my 3rd glass last Friday, I just sat there and was like I had 300 calories in just wine so I just went without that third glass. You can get the scale here Perfect Portions.

On another note we went up to Shaver Lake for the day with Nik's dad and it was fun. My family used to have a cabin up there and we would go all the time, but now I rarely go. It was so nice to be in the mountains in cooler, cleaner air. My dream really one day is to have a place up there and buy a pontoon boat. I dream big.

And finally Tom's favorite teething toy is an old vibrating toothbrush from Oral B. It's funny really.  I actually signed up for the Oral B Wow Experience to test out their new electronic toothbrush. I am so prone to cavities it is ridiculous so I am always open to new products for my teeth. I received the brush last week and have been using it ever since. For around $65 dollars I believe it rivals my current sonicare, and at a much better cost. You can even switch the head one the brush is worn out. My teeth felt clean and I love how it is electronic. My husband wants one now! I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an affordable electronic toothbrush. Get yours at Oral B

Weekend Happenings. Moving Toddler to Big Girl Bed

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! It has once again been a very hectic week/weekend. But I am not complaining. I have been getting more hours from my previous job so have been busy with that, Junior League, and Claire's new school and have had less time to blog.

Claire did excellent her first week in school, so I put her on the wait list for full time 2 days a week. Claire also got her very first haircut last week. Only took her 2.5 years!

We went crazy and got her bangs!

Birthday Wish List...Fall Item Must Haves

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It has been a busy past week and weekend around here hence not posting as much last week. Here are a few highlights:

We finally got Claire a twin bed and will be assembling it this upcoming weekend. Now lets hope she actually stays in bed because there is no turning back now.

Claire also starts school tomorrow twice a week and it is going to free up some time to get my errands done, and spend some time with Tom. I think she will love it and hopefully make some friends.

I have been going strong with working out 6 days a week between spin class and a weights class but I have still been stuck at the same weight for the last couple months. I guess somewhat a bummer but overall I do feel better and more strong.  But I do really need to clean up the diet as I have gone sort of lax. Just gotta keep on trying.

So I know it is only August but I love when I start seeing the back to school shopping commercials and Halloween decor ideas posted on Pinterest. It gets me excited for my favorite time of year. Granted it won't be cool here until mid October but in any regard the time I like to shop is in the fall. I have been on a no shopping at Target and no clothing shopping online kick and I plan to continue it until end of September where I will go into actual stores to try on and purchase some fall items. I am trying to not be impulsive as I normally am, so far so good.

Next month is my birthday (that is coming up too fast) so I sort of combined my birthday wish list with some items that I intend on purchasing this fall. As you know I am all about comfort that is easy to lounge around at the house in and then go run errands. Although sometimes I look just a mess at home in old sweats and I gasp go run errands that way I am trying to upgrade my home outfits so that I am presentable whenever yet totally comfortable. Some items I included I am loving for date nights. I just want all of it ahh!

Number one is a fabulous lace jacket by Anthropologie, would look great with skinny jeans and a camisole or blouse as shown. Number two is a super soft zip up sweatshirt that is great for the gym or errands, I found this one on Joyus. Number three is another Joyus find and a perfect date night blouse, I love the pattern and flow of this top. Number four is flowy pants by Splendid who really know how to make comfortable items look cute. Number five is a pair of ballet flats I have wanted from Toms for a while. Number six is a good denim jacket, this one is from Madewell. Finally number seven is my ultimate favorite, a sweatshirt that looks like an amazing sweater. James Perse has some of the softest fabrics. I love them all. I hope you are all having a fantastic Monday. Any items I missed on your must haves for fall?

Girls Weekend and Favorite New Stella & Dot Bag

My girlfriends and I had a weekend reunion in Carmel this past weekend and we had a fabulous time. It had been about 7 years since we were all in the same room together, which is just too long in my opinion. I had seen some of my friends here and there over the years but we had a lot of catching up to do.

We all went to college at UC Santa Barbara which funny enough came out as the number 2 party school in the US this year. Although it has always been a party school so I suppose I wasn't that shocked. In any regard I had my first glass of wine with my friends back in the college days, two of whom grew up in Sonoma County, and have continued to enjoy wine to this day. Granted we drank the magnum of Vendage that cost us 4 dollars in college, but still. :)

We pretty much just got back to where we left off, as if we had never been apart for so long. 3 girls live in Sonoma County, 1 lives in Southern California, 1 in New York, and myself in good ol Fresno.

We all have busy lives with kids, jobs, and prior obligations but we really focused on planning a weekend to just reunite and have fun. I tell you it is worth it. If it has been a while since you have seen your college friends or good friends and you want a great weekend, I highly recommend setting aside the time to plan a get together. Next year I am hoping we can reunite in Santa Barbara!

Guess which one lives in Los Angeles?

Let the wine tasting begin!

Now on another note while I was in Carmel, I showed my friends my Stella and Dot collection and the bags were a hit! My favorite this season is the How Does She Do It Bag in Painted Zebra. The bag itself is very functional and can be worn to look more like a tote, or like structured bag (there are two clasps on the sides to make bag bigger or more compact). Tons of pockets for gadgets, as I always lose mine to the bottom of the bag. And for the size its a steal at $89.  Plus the pattern can go with almost anything. If you would like a lookbook, or have questions please let me know! Or as always shop online at www.stelladot.com/erinredmond
